Air Command Control and Sensor Netting


Program Manager Air Command Control and Sensor Netting (PM AC2SN) acts as the central agent for the research, development, production, deployment, and life cycle management of Aviation Command and Control (AC2) for the Marine Corps operating forces and supporting establishments.


Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S)

CAC2S provides a complete and coordinated modernization of Marine Air Command and Control System (MACCS) equipment. CAC2S eliminates current dissimilar systems with the hardware, software, and facilities to effectively command, control, and coordinate air operations integrated with naval, joint and/or combined command and control units. CAC2S has standardized modular and scalable tactical facilities, hardware and software that significantly increases battlefield mobility. CAC2S also reduces the physical size and logistical footprint of the MACCS. 

Composite Tracking Network (CTN)

The CTN system provides a joint sensor netting capability integrating ground, surface, and airborne sensors through the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) network to provide accurate, composite, real-time airborne tracks to command and control notes. CTN provides an accurate representation of the airspace, enabling air and surface integrated fire control, and extending air defensive capability of forces stationed at sea.

Marine Air Command and Control Systems (MACCS)

The MACCS family of systems provides the aviation combat element commander with the air command and control support facilities and infrastructure necessary to command, coordinate, and control air operations within an assigned area of operations or airspace sector. It also enables coordiantion of MAGTF air operations with other Services. Principal MACCS agencies/activities are composed of air command and control suites that integrate manual and semiautomatic capabilities to provide air control and direction.

Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS)

TBMCS provides situational awareness and assessment, airspace de-confliction, execution management, mission planning and re-planning, assault support processing, and close air support to the operational forces. Providing the core command and control system to the Tactical Air Command Center, TBMCS assists the battle commander in management of tactical air operations, executing area air defense and airspace management in the tactical area of operations, and coordinate operations with components of other military services.
