Retired Marine Corps amtracker devotes a lifetime to the assault amphibian community
Then-Lance Cpl. Tommy “TJ” Pittman rides in a Landing Vehicle Tracked P5, one of many predecessors to the Corps’ upcoming Amphibious Combat Vehicle, in this photo from February 1973. Pittman served the amphibious assault community for nearly 50 years, first as an enlisted amphibious vehicle operator for 24 years, then as a logistician with the Advanced Amphibious Assault program office at Program Executive Officer Land Systems for another 24 years.
